Joey Cribbs is a former professional American football player who primarily played as a running back. He was born on February 20, 1958, in Sulligent, Alabama.

Cribbs was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the 1980 NFL Draft, after a successful college career at Auburn University. He played for the Bills from 1980 to 1985 and then moved on to play for the USFL's Birmingham Stallions for one season in 1985.

During his time with the Bills, Cribbs was known for his speed, agility, and ability to catch passes out of the backfield. He was a versatile player who could contribute as a rusher, receiver, and return specialist.

In his NFL career, Cribbs rushed for a total of 1,457 yards and scored 8 touchdowns. He also caught 111 passes for 1,164 yards and 8 touchdowns. After retiring from professional football, Cribbs went on to pursue a career in coaching and has worked with various college and high school teams.
